Blue and Gold 2010

On Friday the 26th the Kingsburg Cub Scouts Pack 392 celebrated the annual "Blue and Gold" Banquet. The banquet celebrates cub scouts birthday and this year it is 80 years old. Boy scouts is 100 years old! We get together and eat a pot luck dinner, sing songs, perform skits and of course eat birthday cake. This year was an extra special year for us because Taylor bridged over to Boy Scouts. We also handed out awards and Taylor earned his "Arrow of Light", Thomas earned his "Wolf" and Matthew earned his "Tiger."

Our three boys dressed in their uniforms, so handsome.

Taylor earned a special award that night called "The Arrow of Light." It took him almost 2 years of hard work and fun to earn this award. It is the only award you earn in cub Scouts that you are able to wear on your Boy scout uniform. Oran and I bought him a special plaque to honor that achievement.

After the "Arrow of Light" ceremony Taylor Bridged to Boy Scouts. It was A very moving ceremony. I had to walk Taylor to the end of the bridge and take of his Cub Scout hat and neckerchief, than the scout master ask Taylor if he was ready to bridge over to Boy Scouts and he said yes. He walked over the bridge and they put on the boy scout hat and neckerchief and he was asked to recite the boy scout oath were he promised to be Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent. We are all so proud of you three boys you all did great.

Bass Pro Shop

On Saturday we took the kids 2 hours north to a town called Manteca. They have this store called "Bass Pro Shop". It has everything camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting. They have tents, guns, bows and boats and everything in between. They have animals that have been stuffed, aquariums and even a candy store that makes homemade fudge. We needed to go because Taylor is bridging to Boy scouts in a couple of weeks and is going on his first camp out in March. He needs a tent and all the camping gear. He is also close to earning a "token" that allows him to carry a pocket knife and they have hundreds to choose from. That weekend they also had a surprise for the boys ...............snakes!

The kids really like the aquarium filled with sturgeon.

As I mentioned the store was having a reptile show as well. We had no idea that it was happening but the boys were so happy to look at all the animals especially the snakes. Mikayla not so much, she wanted nothing to do with them!

Matthew and Thomas both were interested in the snakes as well.

Taylor loves snakes, he was so happy holding them.

I love this store, were else can you take four kids and spend 2 hours shopping? We will go back again soon.

Happy 3rd Birthday Mikayla

I can not believe it has been three years since Mikayla Fay was born. She weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. We call her "Sissy". She is talkative, NOT a morning person, smart, she does not say goodbye she flashes the peace sign and says "peace out"!! Sissy loves her brothers, has been potty trained for 6months (thanks goodness no more diapers in the Medina house), has curly hair, and is the prettiest princess you have ever seen.

This year she still loves Princesses but her new favorite is "The Little Mermaid" and "Dora" she has learned so much Spanish already!

She blew out her candle and wanted me to relight it so she could do it again.

Mikayla's favorite is chocolate frosting, she does not even eat the cake just licks the frosting.
Mikayla is the youngest of our family and the only girl, she is loved so much by her older "Bro-bro's" it is a relationship that I truly believe will remain a tight bond for all four of our kids.
