February 16 marks the start of Madi Gras in New Orleans. So my moms friend Barbra from Mississippi sent us a "King Cake" so we can celebrate too. After the cake is baked, they hide a small plastic baby inside the cake. The person who finds the baby in the cake is named king or queen of Madi Gras.
This is a "King Cake" it is a very sweet cake
