Cub Scouts Day Camp 2009

Cub Scout Day Camp was held this past Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. All the boys got to go this year because they are all cub scouts!! The camp is held from 3pm to about 9pm the boys play sports, do crafts, shoot B.B. guns, archery, and meet new friends. I was on staff this year and was in charge of one of the craft tables. Well, because I broke my camera, I forgot to ask my mom for hers until Sunday so most of these pictures are from one day, unfortunately Thomas is not in any of these pictures because the last two days of camp he caught the stomach flu that has been going around the Medina house. So when I had the camera he was at home sick. We we lucky that it only got to be around 100 degrees so the boys were not that hot. (Last year it got to be 110 degrees)

This is a picture of Hobbs grove before all the kids arrive, it was a great place to have Day Camp.

The kids are ready to start the day!!!

Matthew and his group waiting to start the day (yes, I know I put it twice, but he is cute so that's okay!)

Each Den was in charge of making their own flag. Taylor drew the eagle you see on his den's flag. It looked great.

Each day they did archery and B.B. guns.

They also had two craft tables they went to everyday and each day made something different. I worked one of the tables. On Sunday they made "Marshmallow aliens" They enjoyed making them because they got to eat them when they were done.

Every day they had a science experience. This day they made volcanoes. They also learned about geology and the weather.

Part of the activities was sports. Each day was something different. They played badminton, golf, soccer, ultimate (Frisbee) and launched rockets. Matthew playing golf. Matthew and Taylor both had a hard time at this, they are both left handed and they did not have left handed clubs. They still loved it.

The last day the boys performed skits for the parents, here is Taylor doing his part.

We missed Thomas the last two days of camp, but he really had a good time the days he was able to attend, in fact on Saturday he got a "bull's eye" in archery!!! Can't wait for next years Day Camp.
