Matthew lost a tooth!!

Matthew lost his FIRST tooth yesterday!! It was a little loose so when he was at his soccer practice last night and got hit by the ball it knocked it right out. Poor thing has no idea were the tooth went. The tooth fairy still made an appearance and left him a dollar, only it was not under his pillow he had to search for it, we told him the fairy must have played a joke on him since she could not find his tooth and decided to make him hunt for it.

Happy 10th Birthday Taylor!

Today is Taylor's 10th birthday, I really can not believe it. He is what we call our "try out" child because he is the oldest. We "try out" everything on him because he will experience everything before his siblings. Oran and I had no clue what to expect when he was born but we could not be more lucky. Taylor loves all animals and can name just about all the species. He love to read, draw, and camping. He is a great big brother. This year he is starting band, and will earn his arrow of light in cub scouts and bridge to boy scouts. My only hope is that the next ten years go by A LOT slower. Happy 10th Birthday Taylor Oran Medina, we love you! Taylor with his favorite toy, Bakugon! I have no clue how to play but he loves them!

The hospital picture, Taylor was born on August 24, 1999 at 12:33 pm, weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce, was 20 inches long.
He was only one month old, he looks so much like Oran!

First day of school

School started on Wednesday August 19. The kids are all at different schools. The way Kingsburg breaks up the kids is crazy but it works for our small town. They ride the bus to school because I do not have the patience to drive all over town. They really like that anyway. It should be a busy year so I will keep you all posted! Taylor is in the 5th grade. He starting band, and is running for student council (we find out if he won on Monday)
Thomas is in the second grade.

Matthew is in the first grade.

Emily started Kindergarten.

Even Mikayla started her "first day", since I am going to school full time now, she is going to a small day care twice a week. We call it school and she got her own Princess backpack. She loves it.
I can not believe how fast the summer went. Now that school has started we will begin soccer, band, and cub scouts.

Happy Birthday to Mamaw and Grandma

August is a busy birthday month in our family. The 14th is my mom's and Oran's mom is on the 15th. So with the help of the grand kids we celebrated their birthdays. On Friday we had my mom over for dinner and celebrated another year, which I can not tell you how happy I was to be celebrating that day with her, she was feeling good that day. The next day Stella, Oran and my niece Sierra came up for a visit. Sierra is now 13 and will be in the eighth grade. Poor thing got pulled in 6 directions from each kid in this house wanting to play with her. She was such a trooper and we were just happy she was able to visit. That night I made dinner and we celebrated Grandma's birthday. Mamaw with the grand kids

Picture Day

Today my sister Nicole and I decided that since our mom and my mother and law's birthday is this weekend, we thought it would be fun to get the kids picture's taken as a present. Well it was fun planning it but when the day came we both looked at each other and said "what were we thinking?" I mean 6 kids in one picture? Well actually they did great and we are so happy with the way the pictures turned out, what do you think? Taylor, Thomas, Matthew, Emily, Jason and Mikayla
Our kids

Emily and Jason, I love this picture it turned out great!
So Happy Birthday Mom and Stella, lucky for us we have cute kids so your "presents" turned out great!

Mikayla's NEW old bed

The story of this crib starts almost 10 years ago this month when Taylor was born. Taylor was the first to use it. (no it was not purple, it was a light wood) Then Thomas slept in it, Matthew used it (before he was even two he was climbing out of it) Then we passed it to my sister and her kids Emily and Jason. Finally is was passed on to our baby girl Mikayla. Today she is exactly 2 and a half years old and is going in the potty!!! So Oran and I felt she needed a big girl bed, so we took off the crib railings and painted it purple. She LOVES it. This crib is on its final leg but we are so happy it has had so many occupants! So Thanks Uncle Omar (Oran's uncle bought us the crib when I was 6 months pregnant with Taylor) I think you made a smart investment. Oh by the way, that is the same mattress as well, we got it the same day as the crib and it has a 50 year warranty so I guess our grand kids can use it!! Mikayla in her "NEW" bed for the first time.
She loves her bed, and we are so proud of her. This old bed has been through a lot but we are determined to use it as long as we can!
