Zoo

Matthew went on a field trip with his Kindergarten class to the Zoo. Mikayla and I met him there. We had a great time. Matthew really enjoyed the sting rays and Mikayla loved the birds. She kept asking to see kitty's and doggies, Matthew tried to explain to her that we are at the zoo, not the pet store!
Matthew and Mikayla touching the sting rays. Actually Matthew touched them, Mikayla just splashed and got wet!

Matthew loves going on this bridge.

This was Taken right before we were leaving, as you can see Mikayla was not happy about that!

Matthew's Open House

We went to Matthew's Kindergarten open house. It was neat to see all of his hard work. Mrs. Phelan does a great job, we are lucky to have had her for all three of the boys. Here is a few examples of Matthew's work.................
This is Matthew going on a safari, he said he is hunting for lions and they eat meat.

His Monkey

Matthew said he would fly his kite to outer space!

This is Matthew's report on elephants. He made a elephant out of clay and then painted it. He went online to find 3 facts about elephants for his research paper. Did I mention this is for Kindergarten.

A day with Mikayla aka: Sissy

I thought It would be fun to follow Mikayla Fay during the day when her brothers are at school. We call Mikayla "Sissy" because she is the only sister and it seems to fit. She is a character and knows she is the princess. She is going through the stage were EVERYTHING is hers. She walks around and says "sissy MINE!!" She is the icing on the cake and finishes our family perfectly.

I just woke up and want my cup of soy milk, PRONTO!!!
Her favorite thing to say is "sissy do" which means she does not want help

Picking out clothes for the day

Don't I look FAB-U-LOUS in my favorite princess outfit!!!

Well it is Thursday which means I get to go help out in Matthew's class. Sissy gets to go with me and she loves it. The kids all love her and she adores the attention.

Matthew's class

Matthew's teacher ,Mrs. Phelan, puts down all kinds of toys so Mikayla can play in her class. She is so spoiled!

Giving brother Matthew a good bye hug, she loves going to his class.

She loves to take off Barbies clothes because she says she is giving them a bath.

Sissy loves Elmo.

Of course, the day would not be the same without playing with Barbies.

Camporee

This past weekend I took Taylor and his Webelos den to the Boy Scout Camporee. Camporee is a Friday threw Sunday fun filled weekend! About 150 Boy Scouts from our district get together every year and have a huge camp out. They invite the Webelos to attend because in a few months they will no longer be in Cub Scouts and will be moving on to Boy Scouts, this is a chance for them to experience what boy scouts is like. They shot guns, threw axes, did archery, played games, built rockets, learned how to geo cash, built fires and made smore's. I had a great time watching them learn and explore.
enjoying a well earned lunch

Taylor and on Saturday

Taylor with his friend Justin

After lunch.....They boys were hot (about 95 degrees) and ready to go play more games!

This is were the built rockets. They used 2liter soda bottles with water and weights. They used an air compressor and launched them into the air. They went well over a 100 feet. The boys were amazed. I did not get better pictures because you know the saying "what goes up, must come down" and I was to busy making sure I was not a target!

playing "kims game"

The boys played a game called "The pancake flip" One boy had to cook a pancake, then he had to walk it to a line and toss it 30 feet to the rest of the boys who had to catch it and then each had to take a bite. If they dropped it they had to start again or eat it off the floor thankfully they caught it! They were timed who ever did it the quickest won. They got a honorable mention for this game they did great!

Taylor at one of the merit badges learning to use the compass and GPS. They also got to go geo cashing. Lots of fun.

Over 150 boys ready to have a fun day. Taylor is at the end of the picture in the front saying hurry up I hate taking pictures!

Chocolate lovers delight cooked in a dutch oven..............Yummy!!

I also entered a dutch oven cook off my first time cooking in one. I had fun and my cake won 3rd place.

At the awards ceremony Saturday night one of the Boy Scout troops performed a flag retirement ceremony. It was A VERY moving scene to watch 150 scouts salute a very worn American flag as is was retired.

Taylor and his den had so much fun, I only wish they had showers!!!!

Easter!!

This Easter the boys were a little disapointed that we were unable to go on our camping trip to the desert since we were sick. Easter Bunny to the rescue!!! He really made their day special. This year he knew that Thomas and Matthew needed new bikes (they had been sharing Thomas' old bike, you can imagine how that was working out, plus it was to small for both of them) so the good ol bunny gave them new ones! Taylor's bike is perfect, so he had to settle for a whole bunch on new Bakugan's, poor thing! Each basket had books, plastic eggs, cars, a figure they can paint, Bakugan's, and the coolest thing ever.........a chocolate bunny for each of them that had no dairy, soy or corn syrup (they said it was good) Thomas was so happy the Easter bunny new about his food allergies. Mikayla had special items in her basket too. She loves Elmo and the green character from the Mand M's candys so the bunny gave her books and paper with their pictures on it. She also got a pink bunny.
The boys opening their basket.Under all that hair is my baby girl.

Bakugans (if you do not know what these are, don't ask just be grateful!)
It was such a pretty day outside we went and tried out the kids new bikes.
